Our home has three bedrooms and one bathroom. It has hardwood floors, great thermal windows, and a Fisher woodstove that heats the whole house. The gaspak (AC and heating unit) is in very good shape. There is a den, a living room/dining room, and a laundry/utility room. Much of the attic has flooring, so it has plenty of storage. The house is in excellent condition.

We are less than five minutes from East Carolina University, and yet the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. It is ideal for a faculty member and their family.

There are three decks attached to the house, and the backyard is terraced, wooded, and ends at a peaceful creek. In the spring, dozens of azaleas blossom in a riot of color. Nine dogwoods, tall hardwoods, and lush bushes privatize the one-third acre lot. The lower terrace has a wired shed with a deck of its own.

Blossoms of spring

The yard shows off in the spring. The first blossoms in the neighborhood are those that appear on the Japanese Magnolia at the front of the house. Soon thereafter, the buds on the dogwoods appear, and the azaleas come in wave after wave. The gardenias bloom both in the spring and the fall. There are hydrangeas, irises, rhodedendrons, and lots of other surprises. It is truly a special yard.

The yard in summer

These three photos depict the backyard during the summer. The first picture is of the back of the house from the lower terrace. The second is of the well-built shed. In the third, the creek lies just beyond the reclining boy.

The home is built on a hill, and during Hurricane, the house remained dry and out of danger.
